My card was made from a kit from our local scrapbook store in Red Deer, Alberta - called Create Red Deer. She always has such cute little kits you can purchase if you're ever in need of a quick throw-together without thinking about the dynamics of the card - everything you need is in the bag (except adhesive!) She has all kinds of celebrations and holiday themes...

Birthday Wishes at A Cut Above

I am back with another post for the "A Cut Above" Creative Team! 

If you aren’t familiar with A Cut Above, we share monthly challenges that are all about die-cutting. The challenges are always anything goes - with the condition of at least one die cut used (defined by using a die cut machine, manual or electronic, not a purchased pre-fabricated die cut).

I decided to go dig through my stash of dies, and I came across these 2 that work so well together - I am not sure where they are from as I was gifted them many years ago and they were just in a plastic sleeve. I figured this would be an awesome masculine card. The scene behind the trees is a piece of designer paper from Stampin' Up! as well as the sentiment...here's a close up:

The first week of every month is now our "BIRTHDAY" theme and this is hosted by Leanne. So break out anything birthday related and come on over and join us - we would love to have you!

This was an extremely fun card to make at one of our stamping group nights at Diane's. She showed us a way to use up all our scraps of DSP paper! Just think of all the different layout possibilities - here's a close up of what I chose that night:

So fun!! And like me, you all have a stash of bits and pieces of random designer paper in a bin somewhere in your craft space! Dig it all out, throw it down on your working area and just make some funky backgrounds!
